March 28, And then it was green...

It's Sunday evening and I have had a great weekend. Nothing special has happened but I got stuff accomplished that I had hoped I would have.

Friday night I just chilled, did some renovation stuff and went to bed at a decent hour. But as usual I woke up early despite being weekend. Suck but alas, what can I do since I can't go back to sleep. So instead I got up had som breakfast and read the newspaper. At around 8 am I was done and started cleaning....I really need to clean once a week now when they are renovating the bathroom. It get SO dusty. And it sure doens't help that I am doing my fair share renovating in the bedroom. But hopefully I won't be doing too much more dusty stuff in the bedroom.

Saturday afternoon I had some friends, Helen, Johnny, their baby boy Leon, Maria & Milla, over for waffles and coffe. Great afternoon, great company and great waffles. Yummi!

When it comes to my bedroom, below is a brief update.

I have gone from this (pic taken a few weeks ago):

To this:

I painted the final color in the bedroom. It is a bit hard to see but it is a minty sort of green color.

It has been several similar steps to the living room. I have moved the electrical switch, added electrical outlets. Spackled and sanded the walls....I think I will go mad when it comes to the walls in this house. But what can one expect with a house from 1947!!??

I have torn out the laminate floor and painted the ceiling. Spackled and sanded some more....and this time it also inclused the wall bases.

I have taken off the closet doors, sanded parts of the built-in closets. There was just way too much old paint.
This past week I painted the inside of the closets.

Before painting closets:

After painting the inside:

Last weekend I also closed the door opening between the hallway and the bedroom. I don't think you can see it in the picture above but there is only one way into the bedroom now :) I might have actually had a pic of it in my previous blog.

The closet wall isn't complete yet though since I need to build the 4th closet.
When I decided I wanted to keep the exisiting closets from 1947 and close the door from the hallway, I put out a notice in my condo complex that I was looking for a fourth closet door that looks the same as the three existing doors. I did find one at my neighbor down stairs who was tearing his out to make the bathroom larger. So next weekend, Easter weekend, I will be getting some help from Andrej to built the closet. It will be a bit of a hassle to make things line up. I definately will need some help from him to do it. And since he offered to help, I sure won't say no thanks.

After building the closet I still need to paint that wall, paint wall bases and windows. I also have to order the flooring. I won't say what kind of flooring until I have pictures of it. No matter what I think it will be awesome!

Well, I guess this is it for now!

Take care and be careful where ever you are!
