Tracking, touristing and swimming

I got a spontaneous idea Friday when I got out of work which was to head down to see my mom. So I called her and 2,5 hrs later Lakrits and I sat in the car heading south.

But before getting into the car I felt Lakrits needed something more than just a walk since she had been at home while I had been at work. A hard track would be perfect and so I went to Kärrtorps IP and laid a hard track.

It was a bit different/ more challenging than what we have ever done before. I started out on gravel, going over to concrete, then wood (stairs) and then asphalt. I had a few 90 degree angles and it was approximately 70 meter which is also a lot longer than I have ever done before when it comes to these types of tracks.

I thought I might have made it too tough but alas I figured I gotta challenge Lakrits. I let the track sit for about 20 minutes. I had screwed up the start since I had walked back in the grassy area next to the real track....guess who picked up on that?!? But she figured it out really great....I was already impressed! She did the entire track really good. Solved the 90 degree turns great. Not solid since she has a tendency to want to verify that she is heading the right direction but still I am happy with the way she works through the turns.
The most interesting thing with the track was to see which one of the transitions between the surfaces would be the most difficult. Guess which one?!  Wood to asphalt. I had to be really patient and had to hold her tight and didn't give her much leash to wander of. Tough, but she solved it. So much fun to see her work. She loves this exercise and yeah I am addicted to these types of tracks too.

Saturday morning when having breakkie, mom and I discussed where to take the morning walk. I suggested to go to Bergs slussar. Walk towards Ljungsbro and back. So we did. Brought some "fika" and became tourists in the outskirts of Linköping. Beautiful day and lots of boats being transported up along the canal. It is amazing how the water system functions by evening out the higher levels with water.

Sunday we were back home and went to see an old co-worker at her and her boyfriend's new place. We took a walk in the neighborhood and along lake Mälaren....and of course, Lakrits just needs to take a swim. She just loves swimming and playing lots in the water. Fun fun fun finally swimming season is here! Unfortunately no pictures ;(
